The Man and the Mountain is a documentary about the anthropologist Tomas Salem who is doing research on outdoor life and happiness. We follow Tomas at work and privately through the years he works on his doctoral degree, and a key question in the film is to what extent are the research results affected by the experiences and life situation of the anthropologist himself?
